Spring is in the air: It’s late February and hopefully the cold weather is behind us, soon I will be able to come out of hibernation.
I love the springtime, blossoming trees, budding plants and that wonderful fresh green. Equally important the return of daylight…..more painting hours! There is never enough time in the day to complete or even start all the ideas that are competing for attention nevertheless I have been toiling in the studio every day.
My latest collection which I refer to as “memories” are bright bold and beautiful, recollection allows me to use my imagination to the extreme I have been experimenting with striking multi-coloured back grounds to create light and shade, also combining a variety of acrylic mediums with my paint to produce interesting effects.
The beautiful chaos nature of wild flowers and grasses never ceases to fascinate me, my paintings are intended to give the impression that you are up close to nature experiencing the colour and scent. Texture is essential to my work this is achieved by building up many layers of paint; the finished work has a structural quality. Hopefully “A Wild Meadow “achieves that intention with texture and movement in the tangle of grasses where wild flowers grow.
