The inspiration for this painting came from a recent trip to France. It was at the end of an extremely hot day I saw beautiful field of red Gallardia flowers in the evening sun. The colour was so intense it appeared they were on fire like glowing embers.
I created the work using acrylic paint applied with a palette knife,
The work is textured so the finished painting has a structural effect and the design extends around the edges of the canvas it is sold unframed and ready to hang.
